About Us

Pet-Info.org is dedicated to providing authoritative, trustworthy, and educational information about pet health for pet parents.

Since its launch in 2009, Pet-Info.org has been a primary source of veterinary advice for pet parents.

We offer a comprehensive pet health library, including articles, videos, graphics, and educational illustrations, covering all species - from dogs and cats to horses, pocket pets, reptiles, and fish.

As we are committed to supporting pet parents, we are also committed to amplifying the voices and insights of various veterinary authors and reviewers who collaborated with us to create our library.

The editorial staff at Pet-Info.org is committed to maintaining an independent editorial voice, with the best interests of pet parents at heart. Any product recommendations provided on Pet-Info.org, including product links or references, are approved by our veterinarians based on their clinical expertise or current practice guidelines.

Editorial Principle

Pet-Info.org is committed to publishing content that supports the best practices in veterinary medicine. When we create content, we follow clear guidelines:

1: All new content on Pet-Info.org is written or reviewed by veterinarians or subject matter experts. Our veterinarian authors have a DVM or VMD degree and are licensed to practice veterinary medicine. Subject matter experts include nutritionists, behaviorists, and pharmacists. Whenever possible, all of our experts hold degrees or certifications in their respective fields, such as a Doctorate of Pharmacy or behavior certification. We believe in transparency - our veterinarian authors and reviewers are identified as the authors or reviewers of all relevant content and have bios and qualifications linked.
2: We rely on evidence-based guidelines. In appropriate cases, our articles, blogs, illustrations, and infographics come from gold standard reference materials such as peer-reviewed journals, medical textbooks, and other widely accepted reference materials including leading trade and professional organizations.
3: When it comes to controversial topics such as shock collars and tail docking, Pet-Info.org relies on guidance provided by veterinary experts from the American Veterinary Medical Association and the chew-proof veterinary advisory group to help shape our position. Most importantly, our primary interest is to provide professional and authoritative information on pet ownership, feeding, health, medical, training, and information.
4: Products bearing the "Vet Verified" badge have been independently evaluated by a group of veterinary reviewers and have been approved by the Pet-Info.org Vet Advisory Panel. These recommendations are based entirely on professional and clinical experience.
5: Professionalism and accuracy are core operating principles of Pet-Info.org. Our pet parents and partners come from different backgrounds - including different places and industries. We recognize the importance of professionalism and accuracy and strive to provide the most valuable information to all pet parents.

Content Creation and Review:

The Pet-Info.org library contains over 6,000 pieces of content. We continually strive to update our library and ensure that we provide pet parents who rely on us with the latest and medically accurate information. Fulfilling this promise to our readers means following a strict process of creation, approval, and review for every new or updated piece of content appearing on Pet-Info.org. We are constantly improving and updating our library.
We aim to match our veterinarian expertise to the topics at hand. For example, an article about puppy nutrition will be assigned to a veterinarian or nutritionist who specializes in this area, while an article about feline behavior will be assigned to a behavioral expert.
After drafting an article, our editing team conducts strict internal editing and fact-checking, with at least two editors evaluating each piece of content. Any remaining issues will be addressed with the original veterinarian author, and the edited article will undergo another round of medical review to ensure accuracy before publication.
Articles are regularly reviewed to ensure they are up-to-date. Review dates are posted on the site. Our medical review team includes veterinarians and subject matter experts. Updates are also reflected in the articles and identified by the date and veterinary signature of the review content.
